In EXPLO #3, curated by Grace Ellen Barkey, Needcompany will be giving a space and an audience to a generation of makers who intentionally cross their autonomous paths with hers. Through MILL, Needcompany has developed several tools in recent years designed to approach and support new artists. There is now a need to create a stage for them to open the door to new voices for ‘our’ audience. So there will be work showcased from Noluthando Mpho Sibisi and Nana Bilus Abaffy, artists who in recent years have joined MILL’s Beauty Reality Salon, our fellowship for quiet time. Percussionist Aya Suzuki will present new work with a sound installation and performance. Finally, Sung Im Her will create the next step in her highly idiosyncratic choreographic oeuvre, this time in confrontation with Grace Ellen Barkey.

On 23 November, Wordlines opens. This exhibition, featuring HISK laureates and curated by Sébastien Pluot, includes works by Yue Yuan, Jivan van der Ende, Paola Siri Renard, Axelle Lenaerts, Axel Korban, Maud Gourdon, Danielle Kaganov, Maëlle Dufour, Hamed Dehqan, Jim Campers and Fabiola Burgos Labra. The evening will conclude with an afterparty hosted by Needcompany.

The winner of the new MILL's Beauty Reality Salon will be announced on 24 November.
